Why air temperature is not enough
A road can freeze while the air is above zero, and stay wet while the air is below it. The surface loses heat differently on bridges, in hollows and under trees, so KULING treats road risk as its own calculation.
What is included
- Slippery-road risk from surface temperature, dew point and precipitation phase.
- Freezing rain flagged separately — it is the single most dangerous case.
- Visibility in fog and heavy snow.
- Route planning with the forecast at each waypoint for your departure time.
Route weather along the whole journey
Enter start and destination and KULING evaluates the weather where you will actually be at each hour, instead of only where you started.
